June is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what we can do to protect them. We had the opportunity to learn more about beekeeping by interviewing Fresh by 4Roots farm network partner and local beekeeper Drew Miller, owner of Petal Honey Co.
Why are bees so important to our ecosystem? Bees contribute to 1/3 of the growth of our food supply. But I believe that pollinators have a far more crucial role than we even know. Bees are regenerative by nature!

4Roots Student Programs
It has been a fun and rewarding month for us at 4Roots as we’ve hosted some of our very first student field trip groups at our facilities!
Students involved in the Derrick Brooks Charities’ Brooks Bunch Business Academy concluded a year-long financial literacy and entrepreneurship program by visiting us and discovering some of the challenges to our food system and ways we can work together to create a more sustainable food future.
We also enjoyed our time with students in the Gordon Family Giving Foundation’s {CodeOrlando} summer program, where we discussed the history of farming in Central Florida, technological advancements in agriculture, packaged produce for a Feed the Need distribution, and toured the 4Roots Farm Campus site.

4ROOTS HARVEST FESTIVAL + SPROUT SPRINT | 10.28.23
Join us and celebrate the beauty of the season. This family-friendly day includes a Sprout Sprint 4k Fun Run, Lil’ Sprout Kids Run, and 4Roots Inaugural Harvest Festival. Start the day with a 2.49-mile fun run/walk along scenic trails through the Packing District and 4Roots Farm Campus. Ending at The Grove Park in The Packing District.
