Our Work

4Roots Impact Statement:

4Roots is dedicated to unearthing the power of food to build healthy communities. Through its innovative programs, 4Roots supports responsible farming practices, increases access to fresh, nutritious food, and inspires a deeper understanding of how food impacts health, the environment, and local economies.

Program Details:

4Roots collaborates with farmers, businesses, and community partners to create a resilient regional food network. These initiatives aggregate fresh produce purchases to support responsible growers, improve food access for families and institutions, provide hands-on agricultural education, and explore the link between nutrition and well-being. By engaging the community in these efforts, 4Roots is building a sustainable food future that is rooted in health, equity, and environmental stewardship.

Fresh by 4 Roots

Fresh by 4Roots is a virtual Farmer’s Market selling local, seasonal, and responsibly grown produce, meats, dairy products, eggs, and other pantry essentials in partnership with 57 in-state producers.

Meet the Need

Meet the Need connects fresh, responsibly grown produce from local farms and partners to communities in need. By coordinating distribution, it ensures that nutritious food reaches those who need it most while supporting local farmers.

K-12 Education

The 4Roots K-12 Education Program engages students in hands-on learning experiences that connect agriculture, health, and sustainability through farm-based activities, interactive curriculum, and school partnerships.

Culinary Health Institute (CHI)

The Culinary Health Institute at the 4Roots Farm Campus will develop and implement programming related to the use of food as medicine. It will focus on improving health and wellness through nutrition research, education, and clinical application.

Reverse Demand Model

The 4Roots Reverse Demand Model transforms the food supply chain by aligning consumer demand with responsible growing practices, ensuring fair prices for farmers and increasing access to fresh, nutritious food for communities.
