Community and Education
Planting Our First Seeds
On August 1st, KPMG hosted its annual Community Impact Day at 4Roots Farm Campus. KPMG employees helped prepare the field greens for planting and planted the first seeds on the farm campus.
What’s with the cardboard? Creating a barrier of cardboard topped with mulch is a sustainable practice that can provide several benefits for a garden, including trapping warmth and moisture in the soil, preventing weed growth, releasing organic matter into the soil, providing nutrients for plants, improving drainage and aeration, and creating a healthier growing environment.

Expanding Agriculture and Nutrition Education in Orlando
We are very excited to announce we have been awarded the USDA Farm to School grant for the 2023-2024 school year! 4Roots will partner with the Orlando Science Center to develop a farm to school project to be implemented at Orlando Science Elementary School.
4Roots, working closely with these partners will develop an agricultural education curriculum that will be delivered to Orlando Science Elementary students through a workshop series that involves experiential lessons and activities. At the conclusion of their workshop series, students will visit the 4Roots Farm for an immersive field trip experience.
