4Roots and The Farmacy Collaborate for a Healthy Central Florida
April 2021
Combined efforts will build a better food future by supporting local growers and strengthening our community food system
ORLANDO, Fla. (April 12, 2021) – 4Roots announced today they are collaborating with The Farmacy to expand the local online grocery service that supports local farmers by making hyperlocal fresh produce more accessible to our community through new extended pickup and delivery services.
4Roots, founded by John Rivers, is an Orlando-based nonprofit community alliance investing in a healthy, thriving, sustainable, food system. It connects local growers to distributors and to consumers, while creating jobs and improving community health. 4Roots is dedicated to unearthing the power of food to create healthy communities by improving access to fresh nutritious food and educating others about the connection between food choices and individual health, while also addressing the issue of food insecurity.
The Farmacy, founded by Robby and Cathy Clay in 2014, was originally established as a grocery retail store evolving into an online grocery website selling fresh local organic produce and specialty items. When 4Roots was seeking a way to support local farmers and make fresh produce more broadly available, collaborating with The Farmacy represented a strong mission-aligned opportunity.
“We started The Farmacy wanting to support local farmers and reach as many people as we could with locally and sustainably grown produce. As our business grew, it seemed like a perfect fit to build this partnership with 4Roots since our missions lined up so well,” said Cathy Clay, Co-Founder of The Farmacy.
