At 4Roots, our mission is to unearth the power of food to build healthy communities. A legacy gift is a meaningful
way to carry that mission forward – ensuring that the seeds you plant today will nourish generations to come.
There are many planned giving opportunities you can consider to help ensure this mission continues. By including
4Roots in your plans, you join a family of generous and forward-thinking supporters whose impact
will live on well beyond our time together. We are deeply grateful to every person
who makes this commitment to sustain our work.
If you have named 4Roots as a beneficiary, please let us know so we can ensure that your gift is used according
to your wishes. Notifying us of your plans will enable us to plan for the use of your future gift and if you prefer to remain
anonymous, we will keep your name and gift in strict confidence.
Please contact Becca Cord at bcord@4rootsfarm.org for more information.
Supporting 4Roots programs means investing directly in hands-on education, food access, and community wellness initiatives. From school gardens and culinary classes to our Mobile Market and Meet the Need program, your gift helps create meaningful, measurable change where it’s needed most.
Often overlooked, naming the 4Roots Foundation as a full or partial beneficiary of these assets will sustain the work of the Foundation.
Do you know anyone 70 ½ or older with IRA accounts? Instead of taking a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), eligible donors can make a gift from their IRA directly to 4Roots Foundation as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), tax free.
A large contribution of money or property for the organization which, by mutual agreement with the Foundation, is designated for a specific purpose. Restricted funds have a minimum investment requirement of $50,000.

We believe that legacy giving is similar to planting trees under whose shade you may never expect to sit. You don’t need great wealth to leave a legacy, only the desire to make your values known and to help shape a healthier, more connected future.
Planned giving ensures your values live on through support of our mission. Whether through wills, trusts, or other estate planning methods, your impact continues for generations.
Options include bequests, charitable gift annuities, life insurance policies, IRA rollovers, and more. We’ll help you find the right option for your legacy goal.
