This summer, we are proud to join forces with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida (BGCCF) and the Ginsburg Family Foundation to fight summer hunger and ensure children and families across Central Florida have access to healthy, nourishing meals.
When school is out, many children lose access to reliable meals. Together, we launched a summer-long initiative to provide bi-weekly meal kits — packed with fresh produce, pantry staples, and easy, family-friendly recipes — to approximately 600 families in some of our region’s most vulnerable neighborhoods.
“Food insecurity is a critical issue in Orange County, where one in seven residents lack reliable access to food, and 96% of our Club members qualify for free or reduced lunch,” said Jamie Merrill, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. “We are grateful for the support of our partners in ensuring that no child goes hungry when school is out.”
Each kit is designed to do more than fill a pantry — it helps families stretch grocery budgets, try new foods, and build lifelong healthy habits. Kits include:
Seasonal produce sourced from 4Roots Farm and local partners
Pantry staples to round out balanced meals
Kid-friendly recipes that are quick, affordable, and approachable
Tips for storage, food safety, and reducing food waste
This initiative addresses a critical challenge — summer hunger — while empowering families with the tools they need to cook healthy meals at home. Every box we deliver represents more than food: it’s an investment in stronger families, healthier kids, and a more resilient community.
We are deeply grateful to partners like the Ginsburg Family Foundation and BGCCF who help make this work possible. Together, we can build a future where every child has access to fresh, nutritious food — in summer and beyond.
