Kitchens are more than places where meals are made — they are spaces where health can be restored, communities can gather, and lives can change. That belief is at the heart of the Culinary Health Institute (CHI) — a collaboration between 4Roots, AdventHealth, Florida Blue, and Gordon Food Service — and it’s why we’re thrilled to share that CHI is now a member of the Teaching Kitchen Collaborative (TKC).
With more than 70 organization and corporate members, TKC is a prestigious global network uniting hospitals, universities, corporations, and community programs that are proving teaching kitchens can be catalysts for personal, public, and planetary health. Founded by Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and The Culinary Institute of America, the Collaborative has created a movement that is reimagining food not just as fuel, but as a tool for prevention, healing, and connection.
By joining TKC, CHI is now collaborating alongside many of the nation’s most respected leaders in culinary medicine and health innovation — from Kaiser Permanente’s Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic, to Duke Health & Well-Being, Boston Medical Center, UC Irvine’s Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, and Compass Group North America. Together, these members are advancing groundbreaking research, developing best-in-class teaching kitchen models, and empowering individuals to cook with confidence, eat with intention, and live healthier lives.
For CHI, this membership is more than an honor — it’s a launchpad. It allows us to bring new ideas and proven strategies back to Central Florida, expand the impact of our Harvest to Table classes and educational programs, and amplify our commitment to transforming community health through culinary medicine, nutrition education, and clinical innovation.
This is a powerful moment for our community — and just the beginning of what’s possible. As part of this global network, CHI is helping set the table for a healthier future. We invite you to follow along, join our classes, and be part of this movement to nourish, educate, and inspire — one meal at a time.
