Food Waste Prevention Week Strawberry Glean
April 8 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am

Join 4Roots as we kick off Food Waste Prevention Week with a Strawberry Gleaning at Southern Hill Farms! Thank you to the Society of St. Andrew (SoSA), the City of Orlando, & Bloomberg Philanthropies for making this possible.
Pre-registration is required. Know before you go:
We will glean strawberries (and possibly onions) at Southern Hill Farms on Tuesday, April 8th.
When at the farm, please wear: closed-toed shoes (REQUIRED), clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, sunscreen, garden gloves, a hat, and sunglasses. Note that gloves will be provided for anyone who needs them, you are welcome to bring your own. All gloves from SoSA will be thoroughly washed ahead of time.
Make sure to bring: plenty of water, snacks, bug spray, and sunscreen.
If you have a bee allergy, please bring an epi-pen or whatever medication you need. Bees are needed for growing many fruits and vegetables, so please beware that you may see them, but they do not normally bother us.
Do NOT bring any pets! No pets are allowed on property, farms can lose their license if pets of any kind are seen on the property.
No smoking or vaping on the property.
Please contact Megan McEwen at 863-224-0403 with any questions.
