Jon Barr, Founder & Owner of Journey Across the Board

Jon Barr is the Owner and Founder of Journey Across the Board, where food, hospitality, and a little bit of showmanship come together around the table.

A lifelong performer, Jon has spent nearly 30 years working as an actor and singer while simultaneously building a career in the food and hospitality world as a server, manager, trainer, and teacher. When the pandemic brought the entertainment industry to a standstill, Jon found himself looking for a new way to bring people together through the things he loved most. The result was Journey Across the Board.

Jon approaches food with curiosity, flexibility, and a belief that there is no single “right” way to eat. His boards and grazing tables can follow any path, from carnivore to vegetarian to plant-based, with thoughtful options for allergies and dietary preferences. He prioritizes quality ingredients, including organic produce, exceptional meats and cheeses, and products from small-batch purveyors whenever possible.

But for Jon, food is about more than flavor. Drawing from his background in performance, he believes every board should be a show of its own, combining beautiful presentation with unexpected flavors, textures, and opportunities for connection.
