When many families across Central Florida suddenly faced an unexpected interruption in the SNAP benefits they rely on, the impact was immediate and deeply felt. Overnight, households that were already stretched thin were left wondering how they would put fresh, healthy food on the table.
At 4Roots, we believe that access to nutritious, locally grown food should never be uncertain. When our neighbors face hardship, our community steps forward. That belief guided our team and our network of Florida farmers as we quickly mobilized to ensure families did not go without.
How Our Community Responded
Through Fresh by 4Roots, we launched an emergency effort to support families experiencing a temporary gap in food assistance. Our Donate a CSA Program made it possible for community members to purchase fresh Florida-grown produce boxes for neighbors in need. The response was extraordinary, 67 families stepped up, allowing us to deliver nutritious produce to 159 families across Central Florida.
Each donated box helped fill a refrigerator, bring stability to a household, and support Florida farmers at the same time.
The gratitude we received was overwhelming. One message in particular reminded us why this work matters:

This individual wasn’t even a current customer, they learned about the program from a friend. It showed how far the ripple of compassion carried, reaching households that had nowhere else to turn.

A fresh box of locally grown produce with delivery included.Medium CSA — $38
A larger variety of fruits and vegetables to sustain a household for longer.
